My Grillz

The cheese smile was Jolena's Request for the before braces pic:

Now Rolling with Braces

OKLAHOMA

I have to confess that I always thought Oklahoma looked black and white and was dusty and dry - this is largely a result of watching the Wizard of Oz as a kid....too many times. More than once = too many times.

I learned that was not the case: on our family trip to OK, we hit some pretty severe weather as we entereed the northern tip of Texas, he actually had to pull off to the side of the raod as hail pouinded our vehicle, then drive through strong wind gusts and pouring rain...good times.

Finally we pulled up to Jim and Charity's place:

The Puerto Rican's seemed to have adjusted well in their new OK homestead, they are the first redneck surfers I've ever met.

Eric, Stacey and their kids were there to greet us and Dave, Rainey and their kids were going to be arriving that following day - the recipe for fun!!

since lots of the kids were born around the same time- we celebrated a gigantic b-day party, with relatives (Rainey's Relatives) and those of os visiting, we exceeded the fire code regulation for the home by about 125. I think during lunch - we went through 100 hot dogs some steak, bratwursts, pizza and a couple cases of soda.

The cousinsa had a great time playing with eachother, swimming, catchin frogs, whatever they wanted to do in rural OK.

Broden was happily showing off the Bratz rings that he got from Cupcakes:

Dagan was having fun with lots of his girl cousins.

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some family pics:

Jim! what did you do to your forehead?

Ok - I was there - Dave was a little closer to the incident than I was, but I watched the event unfold before me. We were playing several games of sand volleyball Windsors-Clark vs the Christensens. We were on a roll - and closed out the day nicely for the Windsors-Clark Team. The Christensens felt the stars weren't aligned just right and wanted some more punishment - I think they thought they might actually step up their game. So the following day, we accomodated them:

They actually did step up their game (a little). It took Jim, digging for the ball and coliding his eyebrow with Dave's knee, for the Windsor's-Clark Team to lose a couple of games...Jim and Charity spoke the next day (Sunday) in sacrament meeting, Jim was able to point out his wound from the non-contact sport of volleyball.

Who would have thought that roles of hay would be soo much fun, this is at the Christensen Angus Ranch!

Cycling Merit Badge

Getting geared up for some long rides to satisfy cycling merit badge requirements, I've set up regular bike rides with the young men. We ride from my house about a mile to the fountain creek trail.

Meeting at the trailhead.

At the turn around point, we stopped for a short rest.

Sam and Tyler - trying to gather up enough courage to ride across some cement pipes...yeah - that didn't happen.

after leaving the trail we had to ride up the mesa back to my house - braving the elements

Here's Tyler - putting Shelley's bike to good use.

At the end of the ride - some of the boys climbed up a mulch pile...why not?

Rockband

Needed to present something for a group call - along with a bunch of photos - I presented the Rockband segment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9p8Lj7RD-s

For some band intros:
jake - an excellent guitarist and killer drummer - a week after filming this segment - he was helping me build a playground unit in the back yard, and I ACCIDENTLY let go of a wrench, which split his eyebrow - a few stitches later he was good to go.

Tyler - Jo's little brother - another accomplished guitarist - and progressing with his drumming skills.

Jo - Our vocalist - the sexy one - she had to film, so she isn't in the video

and of course the guy with all the slick move...yours truly!

I'm hosting another game night (mostly Halo 3) for the young men in the ward. We plan on having some good games of 8-12 people, on 3 Tv's and a projector...I'll try to remember to take some pics.
