The end of a fabulous year!

Well, it is the final day of 2007. We are gearing up for total mayhem tonight; hosting six children, not including our own four, all from the ages of 1 to 8, so that the parents can go and chaperone the youth's new year's eve dance at the stake center. Its sure to be a very loud and raucous time!

Chickpeas!

For those of you who have polled about the chickpeas, you have no sense of adventure! I purchased this great little cookbook called "Deceptively Delicious". It has loads of recipes incorporating pureed veggies and fruits into everyday recipes so that your kids and spouses for that matter are getting all of their veggies in their diet. The Chocolate Chip cookies I made just happened to have chickpeas in them. You don't even taste them and they appear as nuts. The kids loved them, J-dub was a bit harder to convince. The deception is all for the sake of keeping my family healthy! So, the blender is going to keep pureeing!

Just another Day in November

Highlights of the last week:
1) Having Bilbo fly in for a few hours for an interview. Or that's what he said...hmmm wonder why there was Cheyenne mountain mud on the Jeep when he brought it back.
2) Passing my drug screening test - Yipee!
3) Halloween
4)Trying my luck at Salmon Snagging..well sort of...

Here's some pics:

The Clone Trooper - Dagan

Mr Incredibe - or Dash - not quite sure...one of the incredibles anyway - we had to really convince Broden he didn't want to be Princess Leia or Dora.

Cela or affectionately named "Soaring Chicken" by me...she hated it, it was great!

Rigdon - Coat of many colors - wonder how much I could sale him for?

Kokanee Salmon - this brute was almost dead - I caught him with a net - Spawning season - by the way Salmon tastes better before they get to this point.

Invisible...

Do you ever feel completely invisible to your kids? You ask them to do something and it is as if you weren't even there. It's almost as if you could stand right next to them and scream in there ear, and they wouldn't here you. That is how I feel tonight. I've asked my kids to get there pjs on five different times and they will say, "ok, mom" and then continue right on doing what they were doing or find something else to do with their time. UGH!!!!!!!

October Fun!

We had a fun weekend with the kids. On Saturday, we went to Happy Apple Farms and picked our pumpkins from the field. On Sunday, we carved and colored our pumpkins! The kids had a blast!

Official access...

Well, I was finally priviledged enough to gain access to our family blog. Thank you, dear husband for granting me such priviledge. I figured with his busy schedule, if I wanted anyone to be able to see updates on our family, I needed to be able to publish. So here I am, 11:45pm, the only free moment I've had today, posting a little update.

We are all enjoying the cooler, more fall like weather, even getting a snow storm on Sunday. But it warmed right back up to 70 degrees on Monday. Fabulous! We had family pictures taken a few weeks ago, just in the nick of time, because the leaves are rapidly falling off the trees. The colors are amazing. I am constantly amazed with the beauty that we are surrounded by. Heavenly Father is amazing!

Rigdon also had his very first photo shoot. Adorable, I must say! I am currently working on getting a baby announcement out, but at the rate I'm going, it will probably be more like a Christmas card.

A week later...

more of the little guy

I decided it'd be really cool to get some great ACTION SHOTS of Rigdon doing some prety extreme stuff...I really wanted to get a shot of him on a mountain bike, or snowboarding. I just want you to know that I really compromised on the shots.

*yawn - here's big-rig laying down - wrapped up in a hospital blanket...
Being held by his momma for the first time...wait the first time I believe he was naked...ok second time...
Then Cela wanted in on the action. notice how the hat makes hishead look three times longer than it really is...needless to say - the hat has recently gone missing...let's move on shall we?
Ok I think it's time to share one of those action shots with you now...what? ok fine - now Dagan wants to hold the little guy!

Big-Rig

RIGDON!!

Sept 11 marked the arrival of our little guy.
He arrived 3 weeks early to Jolena's not-so-silent applause. As the nurses carried him over to the portable infant tanning booth, Rigdon let out his first cry - which at the time we thought was cute...cute's not a word we'd use to decribe his cry now as we hear it at 12a, then at 2:15a, then again at around 4:30a...are you starting to see a trend here?
